Hi there! I'm an independent developer and the sole creator of Formuladle. What started as a small personal challenge has grown into a project that I'm incredibly passionate about. This isn't a game from a large studio or a company; it's a labor of love built from the ground up to bring something unique to the racing community.
Unlike many other daily games that rely on algorithms, every single track you see in Formuladle is manually designed by me. I spend time each week sketching out new layouts, testing the flow of corners, and ensuring that every chicane and straightaway provides a fun and competitive experience. By hand-designing the tracks, I can ensure:
Developing Formuladle as an indie project allows me to focus purely on the gameplay and the community. I don't have to worry about monetization strategies or "engagement metrics"—I just want to build a game that I would enjoy playing myself. Every piece of feedback I receive goes directly to me, and it helps shape the future of the project.
To bring this project to life, I chose the Godot Engine. Its open-source nature and powerful 2D capabilities made it the perfect tool for creating responsive and satisfying car physics in a browser environment. The backend—which handles the daily track synchronization and the global leaderboards—is a custom Python system I developed to keep everything running smoothly and securely.
My mission with Formuladle is to provide a free, accessible, and high-quality racing experience that anyone can enjoy. Whether you're here to set a world-record lap or just to enjoy a quick drive on your lunch break, I'm honored that you're playing my game.
